Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Patch Delayed to Fix Progression Problem

Rebecca Smith - June 25th 2019

Last week, ArtPlay revealed they were releasing a patch for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but the patch would likely cause issues with players' progression. The upcoming patch would change the state of some chests, making them appear to be open or closed when the opposite should be true and preventing players from getting some of the items they need to progress through the game. After player outcry over the situation, the developer has chosen to delay the patch.

PlayStation 4 players received patch 1.02 shortly after launch, and several are having problems with this issue. The developer is currently looking at a way to let those players keep their progress rather than making them start a new save file. As such, the Xbox One patch has been delayed indefinitely until this solution is found so that Xbox players won't lose their progress either.

In the meantime, there will be a small patch released this week, but update 1.004 is a "small localization update" and will not have any impact on the current progression issue.
