Welcome back to another month of TA Playlist! We hope you enjoyed your exploration of the underwater city of Rapture with February's featured game, BioShock Remastered Achievements, but now March is upon us. This month, we wanted to celebrate the news of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision/Blizzard by offering up four of Activision's most celebrated titles. It was a close battle, but the winner of this month's poll is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition.
Developed by FromSoftware and originally released in 2019, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an action-adventure (or Soulsborne) game, with gameplay along a similar vein to many of the other games developed by FromSoftware such as Dark Souls.
Sekiro is set 20 years after the rise of the Ashina Empire. You play as a character known only as Wolf, an orphan trained in the ways of the shinobi. Wolf is tasked with protecting Kuro, a young lord of mysterious lineage with whom he was separated after being left for dead as the land of the Ashina begins to fall to its enemies.
The game differs from its predecessors in that there are no multiplayer elements, and rather than focusing on whittling down the health of an enemy boss, you can use your katana and some expert posture & balance in order to defeat enemies in a single hit with a perfect strike. It also has a great deal more stealth options available, if you're that way inclined.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice currently has an excellent community rating of 4.58/5.00 on TA. Over 68,000 people have played it, and over 5,700 have completed it (around 8%). The completion should take you an estimated 60-80 hours, and there is an excellent walkthrough on-site for all your achievement needs!
As always, head over to the TA Playlist Hub and give your opinions on Sekiro in the forums this month. We're hoping for a lively debate to be included in the monthly wrap-up article!
