Luke Albigés - August 8th 2022

Our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart sees Fall Guys take a bit of a stumble while MultiVersus holds steady in the top five, and Ghost Recon Wildlands hits the top 20 after joining Xbox Game Pass.

Fall Guys had a great five-week run in the top spot after its cross-platform free-to-play relaunch, but we're seeing the beans take another hit this week to drop down to fourth place. Actual player count hasn't fallen off too much at all compared to last week's numbers, so this is more telling of just how stiff competition is at the top here, with just a few thousand players separating the big numbers of the top flight. MultiVersus, meanwhile, can't be knocked out of fifth and boasts even more players this week than last, which is promising for when its first season begins soon. Just below, there's not a whole lot of movement other than Forza Horizon 5 hitting the brakes a little, presumably showing that more people are finishing up the Hot Wheels expansion and parking the game until the next DLC arrives.

The biggest movers and shakers further down the list show three solid wins for Ubisoft. Ghost Recon Wildlands manages to find its way into the top 20 after its surprise addition to Xbox Game Pass last week, Far Cry 6 returns after its Free Play Days appearance over the weekend (landing right next to Far Cry 5, in fact), and Assassin's Creed Origins sneaks back onto the chart thanks to a related Game Pass Quest. This week's casualties are Star Wars Battlefront II, No Man's Sky, WWE 2K22, One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, Research and Destroy, and As Dusk Falls, which tumbles well off the chart in just its third week.

Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending August 7th, 2022.

This week is looking fairly quiet for new releases although there's a good chance we'll see Two Point Campus make an impact on next week's chart after it joins Game Pass tomorrow, while Cult of the Lamb might just have enough of a buzz around it to help it secure a spot, too. Looking further ahead, Saints Row and Madden NFL 23 will surely do well here, but how high will they be able to get? Let us know what you think down below!
