Crusader Kings 3 DLC to almost double in price next month

Sean Carey - August 16th 2022

Developer Paradox Interactive has announced it will almost double the price of two previously-released Crusader Kings 3 DLC packs in September.

As per an announcement on the Crusader Kings 3 forum, Paradox will jack up the price of two Crusader Kings 3 PC DLC packs, Northern Lords and Fate of Iberia, on September 13th.

Northern Lords and Fate of Iberia DLC price to increase in September

Paradox says it will be upping the prices of Nothern Lords and Fate of Iberia "to reflect the overall value of this kind of content moving forward." This means that the current prices for both of these DLC expansions will increase from $6.99 to $12.99, or your regional equivalent. "This change will also be reflected in future Flavor Packs whose cost will be more in line with this price point," Paradox adds.

The price increases will not affect the base game, Royal Court, or the Royal Edition. Only Northern Lords and Fate of Iberia will be impacted, so if you don't own either of those DLC packs, it's probably worth picking them up now before the price rises on September 13th.

Crusader Kings III: Northern Lords

Ferocious raiders from a frigid north or a complex society filled with intrepid explorers, traders, and poets? Discover the true richness of the Norse world with Crusader Kings III: Northern Lords, the first in-depth flavor pack for the critically acclaimed Crusader Kings III.

Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia

The sun-kissed lands of Iberia await your glorious rule with Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia flavor pack. Deeply rich in history, culture and people, the peninsula’s medieval destiny is ready to be shaped by your majestic hand, be it clad in conciliatory velvet or as an iron fist.

It's also worth pointing out that Paradox is yet to release these DLC expansions for the console version of Crusader Kings 3, so this only really applies to PC players. However, if and when these expansions do launch for console, it sounds like you'll also be paying the increased price.

What do you make of this? Will you be picking up Nothern Lords and Fate of Iberia before the price increase on September 13th? Let us know.
