Developer Wishfully Studios has announced that Planet of Lana has been delayed to 2023 but has also confirmed that the gorgeous-looking adventure game will launch into Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one.

In a post over on Xbox Wire, Wishfully Studios explains that Planet of Lana will no longer launch in 2022 and will instead release sometime during spring 2023. The developer also announced that Planet of Lana will be coming to Game Pass on day one.

Planet of Lana joins Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass in 2023

"We initially planned for Planet of Lana to launch this year, however as development has progressed throughout 2022, we realized that in order to meet our standards, we need a little more time to get Planet of Lana right and ensure it lives up to the vision we have presented for it so far," Wishfully Studios' Adam Stjärnljus said. "We also think that we owe this to you, the players, not to compromise this experience just to meet a date. We think the extra few months wait will be worth it, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Delaying a game is never an easy call to make, but with all the support we have received thus far, we hope to make everyone happy when it launches."

With the bad news out of the way, Stjärnljus went on to announce that "Planet of Lana will also be available day one with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, so anyone subscribed to those services or to Game Pass Ultimate will be able to play our off-earth odyssey as soon as it is ready."

In Planet of Lana, you play as a young girl named Lana, whose planet is invaded by a mysterious and hostile robot army. In an attempt to flee, Lana's sister is caught by the attackers, leaving Lana to fend for herself in the wilderness. After befriending a cute cat-like creature called Mui, she sets out on a journey across the planet to save her sister and free the planet from the robot invaders.
