Popular Xbox games — August 21st, 2022

Heidi Nicholas - August 22nd 2022

Our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart of popular Xbox games shows Madden NFL 23 breaking into the top 20 just days after launch, while Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge makes its first appearance further down the chart.

Fortnite is firmly back in first place with Fall Guys still at fifth. Indeed the only change to the top ten is FIFA 22 and MultiVersus switching places at seventh and eighth. Once outside of the top 15, we start to see a little movement: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has hopped up two places to 16th, while at 18th we have our first new appearance with Madden NFL 23 after it launched late last week. Rumbleverse has flown up 14 spaces to 23rd, perhaps as a result of the start of its first season, while Elden Ring has slipped down three spaces to 26th. Two Point Campus, meanwhile, has this week dropped another 11 places to 31st; Xbox Game Pass games enjoy an initial boost when they're first added to the service, but as usual it seems players are now moving on to something else. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge makes its debut appearance at 34th after it was included in the latest Xbox Game Pass Weekly Quests, while just below, Outriders has re-joined after it was made available with the weekend's Free Play Days games. Rounding out the top 40 we have Far Cry 5, which has dropped five spaces to 38th (again, this could be a result of players moving on to something else), EA Sports UFC 4 at 39th, and Cooking Simulator at 40th. Cooking Simulator was also a recent Xbox Game Pass addition — Microsoft reportedly paid $600,000 for it — but has fallen ten spaces this week.
