Flashback 2, the upcoming sequel to the popular 90s action platformer Flashback, has been delayed and will now launch sometime in 2023.

Microids took to Twitter to announce Flashback 2's delay. The platformer was originally down to launch sometime this winter, but now Flashback 2 will release in 2023 "with a more accurate launch date" to be shared at a later time.

The developer has not specified a reason for the delay, but it does say that its team "is working hard to deliver an adventure matching players' expectations for this popular franchise dear to our hears for now more than three decades."

Flashback 2 was announced back in 2021, and Microids confirmed that some members of the original games' development team would be returning for the sequel, including Paul Cuisset and Thierry Perreau. Microids then dropped a teaser trailer during this year's Summer Game Fest, confirming its release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Flashback 2 will now launch in 2023.
