Xbox 360 achievements seemingly vanish from players' Xbox profiles

Sean Carey - August 22nd 2022

Players are reporting that their Xbox 360 achievements are no longer showing when viewing their profile on the Xbox app, Xbox.com, and on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. [Updated]

Update #4:
All games that were showing up in your game history before this issue reared its ugly head should now be appearing once again, though Fable 3 remains in limbo. Over on Twitter, Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie said, "It's now believed that all games that showed up in game history before this issue should now be showing up again, with the exception of Fable III (because of course, nothing is easy)."

We are seeing reports that games other than Fable 3 are still missing from profiles. If you are still missing a game, Marie recommends filing a bug report with Xbox support.

Let us know if the issue has been resolved for you or if you're still missing games down in the comments.

Update #3:
We've had a small update from Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie over on Twitter about the Xbox 360 profile situation. Another batch of games, including Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 2, have now been fixed and should be showing once again on your profile. If you're still missing games, be aware that Microsoft is still working on the issue.

Update #2:
Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie has provided an update on the Xbox 360 profile issue. According to Eden Marie, Microsoft's investigation is still ongoing, but "the majority of affected games should now be fixed." However, a handful of games are apparently still proving "problematic."

The missing Xbox 360 games from my own profile are now showing, and we have had several reports from TrueAchievements users that most of their games have also returned. Let us know down in the comments if you're still missing any.

Update #1:
Eden Marie, engineering lead at Xbox has confirmed that the missing Xbox 360 achievements issue is "being actively investigated." We'll update you as soon as we find out more.

Original Story:
Numerous players have reported in our forums and elsewhere that their Xbox 360 achievements have gone missing and are no longer displaying when looking at their profiles on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the Xbox app, and Xbox.com. However, they are still showing when viewing an achievement list on an Xbox 360 and here on TrueAcheivements. While that does sound pretty alarming, there's no need for panic — the missing achievements are still unlocked and attached to your profile, and your overall Gamerscore isn't affected.

Xbox 360 achievements missing, but overall Gamerscore is unaffected

While Microsoft and Xbox Support are yet to acknowledge the issue, it appears to be some sort of outage on Microsoft's end. We're not exactly sure when this outage started, but we've been receiving reports about the problem since Friday afternoon, and it appears to be fairly widespread.

This outage appears to be affecting only some Xbox 360 games, so we can't say for sure which games will be missing from your Xbox profile. On mine, for example, I can no longer see my Dragon Age II progress, but I can still see the lists of several other Xbox 360 titles that I've started recently, including Dragon Age: Origins. If you know what games you're missing, let us know down in the comments.

This is likely only a temporary outage, and we expect Microsoft will fix whatever the issue is soon. We'll update you as soon as we find out more.

Earlier this month, Microsoft experienced a big achievement outage, which left many having to repeat unlock conditions after the outage was finished to get some achievements to pop.
