"Assassin's Creed Mirage" will reportedly take the franchise "back to AC basics"

New reports have surfaced about the next Assassin's Creed game, claiming it will be called Mirage and will take the series "back to AC basics."

We know that Ubisoft will "unveil the future of Assassin's Creed" in September, but it seems some information has already been leaked, with reports claiming that we'll see "Assassin's Creed Mirage" in spring next year.

The reports suggest the next Assassin's Creed game will be Assassin's Creed Mirage

YouTuber j0nathon shared a video about the next Assassin's Creed game. The video is in French, but Rebs Gaming shared a brief summary on Twitter, and that's when Bloomberg's Jason Schreier stepped in to comment on the details shared. Notably, Schreier says that some parts of Rebs Gaming's summary aren't true, such as the claim that there will be multiple cities to explore. Schreier suggests a source "familiar" with the game claims that these parts are true: that the game will be called Assassin's Creed Mirage, that it will launch in spring 2023, that it will be set in Baghdad, and that it will go "back to AC basics."

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the latest Assassin's Creed game, but its two predecessors proved popular — Assassin's Creed Origins sits on our list of 22 of the best Xbox Game Pass games, while Assassin's Creed Odyssey is on our list of ten of the best Xbox RPGs.

We'll find out more about what Ubisoft has planned for Assassin's Creed during September's event — in the meantime, what do you think of these latest claims, and of a possible return "to AC basics" for the next game? Let us know in the comments!
