Halo Infinite Forge video details scripting and bots

Tom West - September 20th 2022

343 Industries has dropped the second video in its Forge Fundamentals four-part series for Halo Infinite, which looks at the mode's scripting and bot capabilities, which allows you to add life to your creations.

Following last week's episode that discussed the building aspects of Halo Infinite's Forge mode, 343 Industries has now released the next Forge Fundamentals video to show off the mode's scripting and bot features.

Halo Infinite Forge Fundamentals: Scripting and Bots

This week's episode sees Forge lead designer Michael Schorr and technical designer Connor Kennelly showcase how scripting, bot customisations, and node graphs can be used in Halo Infinite's Forge mode to bring your created maps to life. This version of Forge also introduces a "nav mesh" to direct your placed bots, so they traverse your creations in the way you want, and to make sure everything is operating how you envisioned, the new Test Mode will give you chance to try it out yourself.

Scripting was first introduced to the series with Halo 2: Anniversary and allows you to change how many things within your maps work, such as changing the ammo types of weapons, relocating weapon and vehicle spawns, adding non-player characters, and the like. 343 Industries says that this version of Forge is going to make scripting more accessible than previous versions.

In other Halo Infinite news, 343 Industries' boss Bonnie Ross left the company and Microsoft after 28 years last week.
