Halo Infinite bringing back classic Halo 3 map to build new mode hype

Tom West - September 26th 2022

Halo Infinite players will soon be able to experience Halo 3's highly regarded map, The Pit, thanks to 343 Industries having built it in the upcoming Forge map creator.

Microsoft has announced that Halo 3's famed map, The Pit, will be added to Halo Infinite soon, and has released a short trailer revealing the map. We don't know when it'll be coming yet, though, but it'll likely be dropping on all versions of the game: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.

343 Industries created The Pit using Halo Infinite's Forge mode

The Pit was introduced in Halo 3 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest Halo maps of all time, so it's great to see it making its way to a new generation of players in Halo Infinite. The remade map is designed using Halo Forge, which will be released in beta form in November, so you can play around with your own map designs.

In other Halo Infinite news, Certain Affinity recently teased "something big and new" coming to Halo Infinite via an unannounced project. The project has been in development for two years now, with close to 100 staff working on it, so it could be something pretty special.
