A Plague Tale: Requiem will take longer to beat than the original

Developer Asobo Studio has revealed that the campaign in A Plague Tale: Requiem is a fair bit longer compared to the first game, A Plague Tale: Innocence.

A Plague Tale: Requiem launches for Xbox Series X|S and PC and drops into Xbox Game Pass on October 18th, and to build a little hype, lead level designer Kevin Pinson has revealed a few new details about the game, including the length of the stealth game's campaign.

How long is A Plague: Tale Requiem?

Speaking to Play magazine (thanks, MP1st), Pinson revealed that a playthrough of A Plague Tale: Requiem is around 15-18 hours long and that there is "no filler."

"It's about pacing, there's no filler, there’s no trying to make it longer because we needed to," Pinson said. "Our publisher Focus Interactive encourages us to do the length that we want to do for the game for the story we want to tell. So we’re not aiming for a specific amount of hours. This is not something that we take into account when we first design the game. We are a small team of 70 people so we have to be really drastic about our choices."

A Plague Tale: Innocence's campaign takes roughly between ten and 12 hours to beat, so it seems we'll be spending a bit more time with Amicia, Hugo, and those cute little rats in Requiem. As for how long it takes to complete the A Plague Tale: Requiem achievements, that remains to be seen as we don't yet have the game's achievement list.
